Dapper Tweed Chair

Rare and unusual mahogany French chair dating back to the early 1900’s with handwritten pencil upholstery costings and signed by the upholsterer back in 1904 on the rear bottom wooden rail, hence this delightful discovery we have left exposed and made a feature for all to see and enjoy. Constructed using a pair of vintage Dunn & Co Harris Tweed Houndstooth country jackets with tan suede arm caps dressed in a equestrian stock and snaffle bit stock pin over a cotton neck roll.

To create a true equestrian influenced piece a traditional local cobbler was commissioned to create vintage tan plaited leather arched arm supports, finishing off the piece in a double piped leather detail and vintage leather football buttons fastenings. Resting on original turned wooden legs finished in a hand painted black enamel. Finally graced with a set of Pheasant feather to button hole alongside a vintage papier-mâché ‘Judge’ badge.
